The purpose of this website is to introduce you to different forms of renewable energy including solar, wind, and geothermal. Renewable energy is one of the three legs of your personal energy independence stool.
This
website is not
meant to be an overly-technical one There is a glossary here
to help you understand industry terminology and technospeak. For example: When most non-technical people say solar energy or solar power, they actually mean solar electricity. Electricity is a type of energy and energy does work. Continuing with the example: electric energy air-conditions your home, lights your bedside lamps, and keeps your refrigerator cold.
We will
often use the terms solar energy, solar power, and solar electricity or wind energy,
wind power, and
wind electricity interchangeably on this site. The sun provides the
earth with enormous amounts of energy in the form of electromagnetic
radiation. A renewable energy system, then, is an investment in pollution
free and renewable energy from the sun and the wind. In many cases that investment is
made over a period of time as budgets allow. And the cost of the
investment might be (probably will be) reduced by rebates or tax credits. green builder, or green remodeler in North Central Texas or the Dallas-Fort Worth area?
