Unless you have several allergies, the best way to remodel for an energy-efficient spring and fall is to make certain that your windows open, they have screens, your doors have screens, and air can circulate throughout your home. That is easier to find in older homes than homes built when contractors and architects thought the way to make a home comfortable was to throw some more electricity and/or fossil fuels at the house. This is a very expensive way to stay comfortable in the 21st century, particularly in the spring and fall.
