The location of your home is not only important, a carefully thought out location can save you money and time for commuting, socials, shopping, and school.

Best Locations:

Close to mass transit.

Walking distance of some often-used services or retailers. The more that are in walking distance, the better.

Walking distances of schools if you have children.

A neighborhood that encourages community: A cul-de-sac encourages community. Front porches encourage community. Ecohousing encourages community. Homes that look like cars live there rather than people do not encourage community.

As close to work as possible. This is particularly true if you or your spouse/partner will work there a long period of time.
