The world seems to have less and less time every year. Maybe time stands still for grandchildren and grandparents. Make time for your grandchildren. Your attention may be the largest block of time they have all week. |
GrandparentingThe Value of Time for Grandparents and Grandchildren. Barbara Wolf |

Maybe time stands still for grandchildren and grandparents. |
Time-There is never enough! Have you ever watched your children "scurry" around. They seem to have so much less time than we did when our families were young. I was thinking about that one week-end as I watched my son and his wife clean house, take care of the yard, be parents, be consumers, and be husband and wife. Nothing was really neglected but nothing was given a large block of time, including the children. The next week I had the following in my email from a friend: Time To realize the value of one year: Ask a student who failed a final exam. To realize the value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby. To realize the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper. To realize the value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of one minute: Ask the person who has missed the plane. To realize the value of one second: Ask a person who has just avoided an accident. To realize the value of one millisecond: Ask the person who has just won a silver medal in the Olympics. |
