Impaired? Grandparents with Hearing Difficulty |
|
By DH Owens |
Grandparents: Living with hearing difficulty or even severe hearing impairment is occasionally part of aging.
|
Your granddaughter is talking to you at least a mile a minute. You can't understand a word she says. You nod "yes" and you can tell by her expression that was the wrong way to shake your head. Later you hear her tell her brother, "I don't think Grandma can hear so well anymore." Hearing impairment is a decrease in one's ability to perceive auditory information. While some cases of hearing difficulty are reversible with medical treatment, many are not. Hearing impairment is most common in seniors and can be a plague to grandparents.
What Causes Your Hearing Difficulty? There are many causes of hearing difficulty. They are explained here. How Do You Know You Are Hearing Impaired? Questions to ask yourself to determine if you are hearing impaired. You Now Know You Have Impaired Hearing. What Can You Do? Both the medical community and your own family can help with your hearing difficulties. |
