Wildlife

Possibly the worst thing that has happened to wildlife in North Central Texas is loss of habitat--more loss in urban areas than rural areas, of course. This has happened because of the vast population, where people live, and human food production, of course.

Humans Cause Animal Extinctions

Food Animals

Food animals, particularly the large ones like cows and pigs, have an extreme adverse effect on the environment and to a great degree, an adverse effect on wildlife in North Central Texas.

Domestic Animals

Keep in mind that animals are much smaller than humans which puts them at greater risk from environmental toxins in general. In fact, your dog or cat is at risk from the benzene released in gas drilling as benzene causes cancer in animals, too.
