Thai Massage The traditional Thai medical massage is based upon an integration of Indian Buddhist medicine and traditional Chinese Medicine while incorporating a spiritual dimension in its hand techniques, meditation, and gentle approach to tension. It is a method of aligning the energies of the body which has close relationships with Ayurveda, Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Japanese Shiatsu, although the roots of Thai Massage lie in Buddhism. Nuad Boran, as is it called in Thailand, correctly translates only as Ancient Massage or Traditional Massage but it is now also known as Thai massage or Thai Bodyworks. It is one of the world's oldest healing modalities and originated in India over 2500 years ago during the Buddha's lifetime. Thai massage is an interactive form of body therapy which combines yoga stretching, meditation, and acupressure along energy or Sen lines. |
